UK cosmetics brand Jessica has rallied the aid of six celebrities to help raise awareness and funds for women diagnosed with breast cancer in the UK with the launch of its Inspire Collection.
Elle Macpherson, Jemma Kidd, Alexandra Burke, Dame Kelly Holmes, Rachel Stevens and Lisa Snowdon have each selected a shade of pink Jessica polish in support of the 46,000 women diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the UK. This October, from every one of the specially chosen shades of pink polish that are bought, £2 will be donated to Breast Cancer Care to help the mission of ensuring that anyone affected by breast cancer will receive expert information and emotional support.
In America, Tommy Hilfiger has designed a new t-shirt for non-profit organization b.cause. The organization is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, as well as the fact that the foundation has raised enough money to provide half a million meals to American’s hungry. The organization will be expanding its reach with a new t-shirt fundraiser, all proceeds of which will go to its Hairdressers Fighting Hunger program.
“We approached Mr. Hilfiger because he’s a legendary American designer who shares our commitment of improving the lives of those in need,” says b.cause founder and president Rudy Sprogis. “We’re passionate about our work with Feeding America and hope that other hairdressers will share our enthusiasm.” The gray t-shirt, which will retail for $20 at salons in the Northeast, features the b.cause logo and a shear in the shape of a fork. Tommy Hilfiger’s signature appears across the left sleeve.
