PBA Beauty Week is more than just a show – it is the professional beauty industry’s most prestigious business, education, networking and awards event in North America. Hosted by Cosmoprof North America (CPNA), thousands of beauty professionals from every sector of the industry will converge in Las Vegas, July 30 – August 2, 2011, to take part in PBA Symposium, the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), PBA Beacon, Best Practice Club (BPC) and the annual City of Hope Gala. PBA Beauty Week brings these leading industry events together under one roof allowing attendees to maximize their participation and productivity while becoming the beauty professional they aspire to be.

2011 will mark the third annual PBA Beauty Week, which continues to evolve to meet the ever-changing needs of the industry. As one of the best investments beauty professionals can make in expanding their businesses and careers, PBA Beauty Week will revolve around the theme of “Be More.” All programs, events and education are built around this central theme to further enhance the take-home knowledge busy professionals seek. With more than 25,000 international beauty professionals expected to attend, PBA Beauty Week and CPNA will once again be held at the Mandalay Bay Resort in Las Vegas. An overview of events include:
PBA Symposium – Be More Intelligent: Open to the entire professional beauty industry, PBA Symposium presents comprehensive education and networking like no other event. 2011 will feature keynote speaker Stedman Graham, author of You Can Make It Happen: A Nine-Step Plan for Success. Graham is a noted motivational speaker focused on achieving success in life and business, as well as Founder of the My Life is About Foundation. In addition to Graham, PBA Symposium will also feature an array of top beauty professionals, authors, and salon/spa consultants including: Kristi Valenzuela, Harry Wood, Tom Kuhn, Julie Shepperly, and Glenn Baker.
In addition to the PBA Symposium General Sessions, breakout tracks will offer more intimate learning environments designed around specific topics including leadership, increasing revenue transactions, social networking and more. Attendees will have an assortment of topics to choose from, while staying focused on business building and advanced networking. Attendees can also take a specialized tour of the renowned Zappos headquarters. NAHA – Be More Recognized: With record attendance every year, NAHA is a “must-attend” event. As the most prestigious beauty competition in North America, NAHA celebrates the artistry and skill of the professional salon industry. Held annually, this star-studded Awards Ceremony features a Red Carpet Reception, live entertainment and the recognition of industry greats and emerging talents. At NAHA 2011, Stan Klet, Sr. will be inducted into the NAHA Hall of Leaders and Michael O’Rourke will be honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award. NAHA will take place on Sunday, July 31 at the Mandalay Bay Resort and will be broadcast via free streaming video at hairdesignertv.com.
PBA BEACON – Be More Ambitious: Designed to promote the next generation of professionals, Beacon provides an amazing opportunity for students to network and interact directly with industry leaders and learn how to jump start their career, market their services, and operate a business successfully. Best Practice Club – Be More Accomplished: By invitation only, BPC provides a forum for the nation’s leading salon owners grossing over $2.5 million annually to meet and discuss consumer trends, employment issues, and the best overall practices that help a business thrive.
City of Hope Gala – Be More Giving: This annual black-tie event gathers the industry’s top professionals in support of the City of Hope Hospital and Research Center and its mission to fight cancer, diabetes, HIV/AIDS and other life-threatening diseases. Sara Jones, Senior Vice President & General Manager of Joico, will be honored with the Spirit of Life Award. The Spirit of Life Award is the hospital’s most prestigious honor recognizing business and philanthropic contributions. The 2011 Gala will now be held at the start of PBA Beauty Week, Saturday, July 30 at the Mandalay Bay Resort.
