As part of their exclusive educational beauty event held this past April, PBA member Essential Salon Products (ESP) team members and educators paid special tribute to those affected by the bombing at the finish line of the Boston Marathon. The team sang along to a Boston classic, Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond, while proudly wearing Red Sox gear.

The tribute focused on Celeste and Sydney Corcoran, a mother and daughter who were badly injured in the blasts. Sydney suffered severe injuries as a result of being hit with shrapnel and Celeste has lost both her legs below her knees. Celeste and Sydney are both stylists in the Boston area. A family member started a fundraising web page through gofundme.com, which has raised nearly $250,000 to help with her recovery.

Celeste visits with ESP Exec. Vice President Renee Shakour and team.

“Gofundme.com shared that her page has been the fasting growing in the site’s history,” said Renee Shakour, ESP Executive Vice President.

Celeste and Sydney are beginning the long road to recovery. Celeste Corcoran will work to prepare her limbs for prosthetics that will help the hairdresser return to the work she loves. “It’s been a lifelong passion,” Corcoran said. “I can’t see myself not doing that.”
