From all of us at PBA, our hearts go out the all of the victims and their families affected by the Boston Marathon bombings.
The tragic events which occurred during the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 15, have left physical and emotional scars for many. Sadly, one of those critically injured was a member of our beauty industry family. Celeste Corcoran, a hairdresser in Boston, was attending the marathon with her husband Kevin and daughter Sydney, watching a family member complete this historic race when the bombs went off.
According to the Lowell Sun, shrapnel from one of the bombs hit Celeste and her family, causing minor injuries to her husband, shredding both of her daughter Sydney’s legs and causing so much damage to Celeste that both of her legs had to be amputated below the knee.
As a hairdresser being on her feet every day, this is a devastating and life-changing event for Celeste, her family and friends and the beauty community who stands behind her. Celeste’s family has set up a fundraising account to raise money for Celeste and Sydney’s expenses as well as donation page on gofundme.com.
PBA wishes Celeste, Sydney and all those injured by the blasts a successful recovery. Please help to spread the word about fundraising efforts to help Celeste and her family during this tragic time.
