According to the 2010 Census, New York City has over 2.3 million Hispanics, which account for more than 25% of the NYC population. It’s not hard to see why businesses and organizations should cater to this booming population. With this in mind, the NLCA New York Network was born
In affiliation with the National Latino Cosmetology Association (NLCA), the NLCA New York Network was recently launched this year with the mission to support the beauty industry by providing educational and career development resources to the Latino beauty professional and student, while also serving as a business resource and advocate for business owners, manufacturers, and distributors in the beauty industry.
“Because Latina women love beauty, it’s not surprising that many of them are working in the beauty industry as hairstylists, makeup artist, nail technicians, etc.,” said Elline Surianello, CEO of LeMetric Hair and Beauty Studio and Founder of the NLCA New York Network. “So, it’s only logical that we needed an organization like this in NYC to provide resources and education that will help this large and growing population advance in their career.”
In addition, Surianello established the NLCA New York Network in order to support the NLCA national charitable initiatives and provide professional beauty events throughout the five boroughs of NYC.
“I have always been involved in the beauty industry,” said Surianello. “So I want to give back and help those who love all things beautiful. I couldn’t have started making custom, quality hairpieces and hair extensions without the help of others. We all need opportunities and tools to take us to the next step.”
The NLCA New York Network currently has a 2 for 1 membership special where interested members can receive two annual memberships for the price of one membership.
NLCA National welcomes Elline Surianello as the NY Network Launch , says executive director Julie Zepeda. “We have great confidence that our affiliation will benefit the industry with exceptional and much anticipated support for our industry networking events.”
