Most cosmetology students hope to launch into a successful career straight out of cosmetology school and having the right business tools only helps on their endeavor. Whether a student is interested in working behind the chair, for a manufacturer or distributor, or eventually becoming a salon/spa owner, PBA’s Beacon program is the first step in providing students with the edge they need to be successful.

As a Beacon attendee, students will learn business techniques, be motivated by industry icons and possibly meet their future employer.

Beacon is an annual event held in conjunction with PBA Beauty Week to provide the nation’s top future professionals with the guidance to achieve maximum career success. Beacon students attend classes hosted by some of the top names in the beauty industry: Vivienne Mackinder, James Morrison, Geno Stampora and Charles Marcus just to name a few of our past speakers.

Since Beacon is held during PBA Beauty Week, the students have the opportunity to network with salon/spa professionals, manufacturers and distributors from around the country. A highlight of the Beacon weekend is the opportunity to attend the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), where Beacon students get to mix and mingle with the top stylists from North America and be inspired by the looks leading today’s top fashion runways.

All cosmetology students are encouraged to compete for a coveted spot in the Beacon program. One hundred winners will be selected to attend the program for no admittance fee.  Another one hundred students will be chosen to attend at a highly reduced rate. As a Beacon attendee, students will learn business techniques, be motivated by industry icons and possibly meet their future employer. The deadline to submit applications is March 2, 2012. Visit probeauty.org/beacon to apply or for more information.
