Beauty professionals, students can apply for NAHA and Beacon as of December 17, 2013

Phoenix, AZ (December 17, 2013) The Professional Beauty Association (PBA) is now accepting applications for the 2014 North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA) and its Beacon student program. NAHA entry is open to cosmetologists, cosmetology students, barbers and makeup artists licensed or attending school in the U.S., Canada and Mexico. Students may only enter the Student Hairstylist of the Year category provided they are enrolled in cosmetology school or are performing required hours in a salon as of the entry due date. Beacon is open to students enrolled in an appropriate program (cosmetology, esthetics, nail technicians, etc.) in the U.S. or Canada between September 1, 2013 and April 1, 2014. Applications for NAHA are due February 5, 2014, and Beacon applications are due March 26, 2014. There are absolutely no exceptions.

Beacon Background

The Beacon student program provides the nation’s most promising cosmetology students with education and opportunities to network with the industry’s highest profile salon owners and stylists during PBA Beauty Week, held each July in Las Vegas. Beacon students attend specialized classes with the biggest names in the industry, get up close and personal with NAHA finalists and get a firm understanding of the business of beauty.
