One in three women and one and nine men will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime. CUT IT OUT: Salons Against Domestic Abuse aims to break this cycle and give victims of abuse the confidence to speak out and seek help.

CUT IT OUT is a program of the PBA Foundation and is dedicated to mobilizing salon professionals and others to fight the epidemic of domestic abuse in communities across the U.S. by building awareness and training salon professionals to recognize warning signs and safely refer clients, colleagues, friends and family to local resources.

In commemoration of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, PBA and CUT IT OUT launched its “Give the Power Back” awareness campaign to encourage salons across the U.S. to host a fundraiser and help educate staff and clients on the epidemic of domestic abuse and how to stop it. Since the launch of the campaign, salons have raised more than $1,000 to help victims break free of their abusers.
