NEW YORK S.B. 7018 – Product Bans/Recall Requirements

Summary: Current version (6/15/2014) S.B. 7018-A: Prohibits the sale of personal care products or cosmetics containing microbeads.
States that, upon application by a manufacturer, in a form to be determined by the Department of Environmental Conservation, the Department may exempt, from the sales prohibition under this title, any personal care product that contains microbeads that biodegrade in an aquatic environment in a safe and timely manner.
