SOUTH CAROLINA H.B. 5068 – State Boards of Cosmetology

Summary: Amends the definition relating to professions and occupations regulated by the state Board of Cosmetology by removing references to a rental booth or part of a place of a building from the definition of “beauty salon” or “salon.”
Repeals law establishing the rules for registration, training, term and renewal of registration of hair braiding practitioners.
Status: Introduced; referred to House Committee on Labor, Commerce and Industry 4/8/2014. Failed to meet crossover deadline 5/1/2014. Failed upon adjournment 6/19/2014.
