Hello! We’re Lisa and Jenel, just a couple of blondes from rural Minnesota who have spent years coming up with crazy ideas to make the world of hairstyling easier and more efficient.
Our journey together started in 2007, when we began working side by side co-owning a successful salon in Alexandria, MN. With almost 50 years of combined “behind the chair” experience, we’ve spent countless hours brainstorming, testing, and refining ways to make the hairstylist’s job smoother, more enjoyable, and ultimately more efficient.
At Boss Beauty Designs, we bring our real-world salon experience to the table when creating innovative products and tools that are designed specifically for hairstylists, by hairstylists.

That’s when we decided to take matters into our own hands and develop products that could change the game.

We know that time is precious, and precision is everything in this industry, which is why we’ve developed products like The Quick Tray, The Reverse Cape and The Boss Apron— three game-changing tools that streamline the styling process and reduce unnecessary complications.
The Quick Tray is an innovative color tray that will attach quickly for use during a color application, and then, just as easily, it will detach for cutting/styling. The “Quick Tray” attaches to an arm below the stylist’s chair, which allows the tray to swivel almost completely around the entire perimeter of the chair. It will provide easy access to your color bowls/foils/etc. … no more reaching back & forth and no more stumbling around with a traditional tray on wheels.
The Reverse Cape is another game-changer in the industry. It eliminates the need for multiple capes during haircuts, saving time and reducing waste. Its innovative design ensures full, seamless coverage and easy maneuverability, providing a comfortable experience for both stylists and clients.
The Boss Apron is crafted with a durable, breathable compound fabric that boasts 100% resistance against bleach, chemicals, and water. Its lightweight, flattering design and cross-back straps provide ultimate comfort for the neck and shoulders. This one-of-a-kind apron is also machine washable and dryer safe.
