About the PBA Disaster Relief Fund

The PBA Disaster Relief Fund was established by the National Cosmetology Association in 1955 to assist salon professionals in rebuilding their lives following the devastation of a natural disaster. Over the course of five decades, the fund has been there for professionals in times of dire need.

As thousands of families struggle to rebuild after Hurricane Sandy swept through the Northeast, PBA reached out to beauty professionals and industry companies to contribute to the Professional Beauty Associationís Disaster Relief Fund.

  • The Fund, established in 1955, assists salon professionals with much needed funds following the devastation of natural disaster.
  • The PBA Disaster Relief Fund provides 100% of all funds raised directly to the professional beauty industry professionals in need.
  • The funds provided are intended to serve as quick cash on hand for short-term, immediate needs, such as clothing, food, bills, etc. The Disaster Relief Fund is not intended for long-term rebuilding of salons.
  • The PBA Disaster Relief Fund is a program of the PBA Foundation, a 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law.
