Scholarship Opportunities

Application deadline is September 30, 2026.

Five (5) scholarships valued at $500 will be awarded.

Scholarships will be awarded to current PBA Licensed Professional and Student Members to use towards continuing education or cosmetology school.

Five (5) scholarship recipients will be chosen and notified by email. All scholarships are funded by The Joseph L Weir Trust and administered by the PBA Charities. Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the PBA Chair. All scholarship awards are final.

PBA honors the legacy of Joseph L. Weir through educational scholarships. These scholarships celebrate the spirit of commitment to the association, which has been demonstrated by Joseph L. Weir through fostering the advancement and education of individual members.

The PBA Joseph L. Weir Scholarship is made available because of the Joseph L. Weir Trust.

2026 Schwarzkopf Professional Shaping Futures

Application deadline is October 31, 2026

Five (5) $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to cosmetology students currently enrolled in an accredited cosmetology or hairstyling program.

Shaping Futures’ mission is to empower. Born from a project in 2008, Shaping Futures has evolved into a global initiative within over 33 countries, helping teach new skill sets for participants, to be able learn a craft and support themselves. We are excited to be able to offer Shaping Futures to our future hairstylists in USA; scholarships to assist with schooling, along with support and mentorship, including continued educational seminars and trainings. Creative, compassionate, exciting, and empowered, that is the Schwarzkopf Professional way.

To be eligible, applicants must:

· Be 18 or older and a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident

· Enrolled in an accredited cosmetology or hairstyling program leading to licensure

· Henkel employees and their children are not eligible

· Complete the application in its entirety

All scholarships are funded by Schwarzkopf Pro and administered by Professional Beauty Association Charities. Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by PBA Charities. All scholarship awards are final.

Application deadline: October 15, 2026

One (1) – $2,000 scholarship will be awarded to a student enrolled in and in good standing at school studying cosmetology, nail tech, barbering, esthetics, or massage.

Two (2) – $500 scholarships will be awarded to individuals currently working as a beauty/wellness professional licensed in cosmetology, nail tech, barbering, esthetics, or massage for industry-related continuing education

Eligibility requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled in school (and in good standing) or a licensed professional currently working as a beauty/wellness professional
• Must be a Cosmetology, Nail Tech, Barbering, Esthetics, and Massage student or licensed professional
• Must complete the application in its entirety

Winning applicants will be notified by January 1, 2026

Five (5) – $500 scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled in school (5) and active licensed professionals (5). Winners will be chosen and notified by email. Scholarship funds awarded must be used within six months of being awarded.

To be eligible to apply, applicants must be:

• Milady RISE Certified in Client Well-Being & Safety (students at Milady RISE Partner schools get free access)
• Currently enrolled in school (and in good standing) OR a licensed professional currently working as a beauty/wellness professional in Cosmetology, Nail Tech, Barbering, Esthetics, or Massage.
• Must complete the application in its entirety.

All scholarships are funded by Milady and administered by the Professional Beauty Association Foundation. Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the PBA Chair. All scholarship awards are final.

• At least 18 years of age and a U.S. citizen.
• A cosmetology student enrolled in an independent cosmetology school (not affiliated with a specific product brand) in a cosmetology program resulting in a cosmetology license.
