Scholarship Opportunities
PBA JOSEPH L. WEIR MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP
Application deadline is September 30, 2025
Five (5) scholarships valued at $500 will be awarded.
Scholarships will be awarded to current PBA Licensed Professional and Student Members to use towards continuing education or cosmetology school.
Five (5) scholarship recipients will be chosen and notified by email. All scholarships are funded by The Joseph L Weir Trust and administered by the PBA Charities. Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the PBA Chair. All scholarship awards are final. Scholarship funds awarded must be used in 2025.
PBA honors the legacy of Joseph L. Weir through educational scholarships. These scholarships celebrate the spirit of commitment to the association, which has been demonstrated by Joseph L. Weir through fostering the advancement and education of individual members.
The PBA Joseph L. Weir Scholarship is made available because of the Joseph L. Weir Trust.

Rosy Salon Software Scholarship
Application deadline is October 1, 2025
Two (2) $250 scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled in a cosmetology, barber or esthetics program in the US or Canada resulting in a cosmetology, barber or esthetics license.
To show their dedication to diversity, inclusivity, and bettering the lives of others, Rosy Salon Software is awarding at least half of all scholarships to minority students.
Two (2) scholarship recipients will be chosen and notified by email. Scholarship funds awarded must be used within one year of being awarded. All scholarships are funded by Rosy Salon Software administered by the Professional Beauty Association Foundation. Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the PBA Chair. All scholarship awards are final
Aura Salonware Scholarship
Application deadline is October 15, 2025
All applicants will be notified of the status of their application via email by December 1, 2025.
Aura Salonware is proud to present this scholarship. To be eligible, you must be a salon owner in business for less than 5 years with at least 3 W-2 employees in a commission-based salon. Additionally, you must complete an Aura Salonware demo using THIS LINK by the scholarship deadline. You will be required to submit a screenshot of your demo confirmation as part of the application below.
One (1) – $1000 scholarship recipient will be selected. The scholarship may be used towards:
• Upgrade business devices: computer, tablet, printer, etc.
• Stock up on salon inventory
• Salon renovations
• Apply toward business coach or CPA
• Photo session in the salon – headshots, team pics, etc.

Schwarzkopf Professional Shaping Futures
Deadline: October 31, 2025
Winning applicants will be notified by December 15, 2025
A total of five (5) – $2,000 recipients will be chosen.
Applicants are required to complete the application in full to be considered for this scholarship. Eligibility requirements are as follows. Student applicant must:
• A student who is currently enrolled in an accredited cosmetology program in the US resulting in a cosmetology license. Continuing education programs or students with an existing cosmetology license do not qualify.
• Be eighteen (18) years of age or older by the start date of the program at the accredited school or institution
• Be able to demonstrate a financial need
• Submit a letter of recommendation from an educator or employer.
• Be a U.S. Citizen or legal permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card or passport stamped I-551.

MILADY RISE SCHOLARSHIP
Application deadline is November 15, 2025
Winning applicants will be notified by January 1, 2026
Five (5) – $500 scholarships will be awarded to students currently enrolled in school (5) and active licensed professionals (5). Winners will be chosen and notified by email. Scholarship funds awarded must be used within six months of being awarded.
To be eligible to apply, applicants must be:
- Milady RISE Certified in Client Well-Being & Safety (students at Milady RISE Partner schools get free access)
- Currently enrolled in school (and in good standing) OR a licensed professional currently working as a beauty/wellness professional in Cosmetology, Nail Tech, Barbering, Esthetics, or Massage.
- Must complete the application in its entirety.
All scholarships are funded by Milady and administered by the Professional Beauty Association Foundation. Applications will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the PBA Chair. All scholarship awards are final.
